How many of you must sneek your toys past the wife

we always take care of our son first. =) he has more clothes and toys then both of us put together. =) my wife has a hobby as well. its called purses and I don't know if any of you guys have a wife or gf that's into that but she can out spend me easy on those **** things. and only use them for 2 weeks max. then its on to another one. oh well it keeps her happy I suppose. I can't wait till my son is old enough for power wheels..hehe he will have a daily driver and a spl ride. lol

yeah my g/f has the "purse" hobby. I dropped $350 this past christmas on one, and that was an average price.

When I buy stuff, I usually tell her it cost $50 when it is really $100 and so on.

I hate them stupid purses, such a waste of money. Why do you have to have 30 different ones, they can only carry one at a time

I'm 21 and in college. Currently still live with my parents. They accept the fact that I will spend my money on what I want. I dont have any money problems so I dont have to hide anything. New things show up, and they ask what it is, I explain, they get confused and say okay, have fun with it. My girlfriend thinks its pointless, but doesnt really care either. The best "line" I have given her is this.

"Why do you buy all of this?"

"Because I like my car and I like car audio. I take pride in what I have done to my car so I spend more and make it better. I take even more pride in the person who rides around in this car with me. So then I just make it even better. A nice car always needs a beautiful girl to help show it off."

Dont quote me on that, cause i dont remember if that is exactly what I said. Mad *** brownie points though.

yep I hear ya. dropped like 500 on two this month. =( but its all good. keeps her happy. our spending ratio is about the same. but I have to do the same thing...buy for both of ours but shes a stay at home mom so she earns it. =)

Well like I said, I got married at age 18, so we werent making crap back then. We now make a pretty good living, so we really arent hurting. I have not seen the check book in ........ im guessing here, 15 years. Dont care to see it, dont care what money is where. So I know she spends tons on various things, mostly our 4 daughters, 1 in HS and 1 a soph in college. If I saw where all that money went Id probably be pissed all day long. This is why i dont care to see the check book. I do not even get a paycheck, does straight to the bank.

I had parents that fought over mloney all the time, I have no desire to go there.

That being said, I do just get stuff when I want it, and explain later. I really liked that post earlier saying it is easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.

For those of you with GF or especially those that still live with parents. I wouldnt even be concerned about that. Your money, do what you want. But once you get married, it changes. And to just say she better get with the program or hit the road, I agree, you certainly wont stay married for long.

This has been interesting to see that many of us do the same things in dealing with our sig other in regards to our audio purchases

That's not true. Just because most women run most relationships doesn't mean all relationships run best like that. Me and my wife get along fine. I make all the rules, and she follows them. I don't do it to be an ***, but generally I make the better decisions and she knows that. She might get upset sometimes but usually she realizes it was for the best.
I buy what I want when I want it. The only thing she does about it is bring it all up anytime I mention saving money or whenever she really really wants something

My crystal ball says you will end up divorced sooner, rather than later. Have fun with that.
