I just built my first box on my own. Its a 3.25 cu ft (3.06 net cu ft) ported box tuned to 30 hz for a 15 RE SRx. I havent had time to install the sub etc, because ive got it all drying.
I went to home depot to buy the MDF and make the cuts, and I used a box building maker and the cuts were off for the width of the MDF, so needless to say I have pieces on the ends to fill the 3/4" gap on each end that was open. So I used alot of glue and screws to make it as tight as possible and sealed the inside also with RTV Clear silicone. The port and the sub cutout I did with a jigsaw were great I can cut pretty straight.
So after the box is built, I go to put it in my car and it is like 1/8th inch too large to get into the trunk. After removing the weatherstripping and the trunk latch, this and that etc ( I did measure before, but it was too close to guess ) I got it in and ****ing ridiculous tight ( it hits the rear speakers and is VERY snug and not moving.
Any of you had these problems i.e wrong cuts and not fitting in trunk? After like 6-8 hours of cutting and assembly I couldnt help but laugh.
Ill take pics when its all in and done.
