How many of you have blown a RF T2

my experience with the T212D4 subs is a gong show..they hit like a mother

when they work but IMO the most un reliable sub I have ever owned...

I have NEVER blown another brand of sub with out filling up the car with

smoke but these T2's just POP and go dead..I have had 2 of them die in the past

month and 1/2...no smell..no smoke...just dead

take in mind this is the same amp that my JBL W10gti subs handle no problem

and thay are rated at 600w rms VS the T2 rated at 1000w rms

I just tore down one of the blown T2's...the VC is made out of paper thin flat

Aluminum and it smoked off at the top of the coil where it goes down in behind

the paper....the coil itself looked in perfect shape

I unwrapped the coil...the aluminum is very soft..not something I would put

in a high powered woofer

i have not blown RF T2 and have used many

but i do hate RF very much

i know you are very active on their forum , are you gonna share your thoughts on this with them

I think I could floss my teeth with the voice coil material

I don't think you will find me on the RF site much any more..I can not stand behind the new Power series subs

IMO the Punch stage 3 subs are more reliable....I had the P3's in for 2 months with no problems

my 10" JBL subs kick *** on the 12" T2 subs for power handling

I also have the SSA product line......I had a SINGLE 12" ICON on my BPX 2200.1 and it took the power

no problem ( heavy duty copper voice coil)..where the pair of T2's failed twice

the price of the t2 is stupid expensive compared to what you can buy for the same $

the cones are so delicate almost anything that touches them dents them

and now that i see those parts it is even more a joke

I loved my Power HX2's..I could crank them for hours with out any problems

I had the first T2 replaced about 2 weeks ago and blew the 2nd one this morning

so I am back to the old reliable W10gti's

to top it all off I was not even listening to a bass CD when it poped.....I was listening to

Van Helan "wise me majic" when it died
