Will this increase spl by a lot or little?

i don't want to know how many dbs i'll hit, just if it will be louder.

Same set up, but instead of being in the trunk, taking out the backseat and building a bigger box in there.

Current box is 2 Mtx 8512s with each chamber ~1 ^ 3 tuned at ~44. The next box will probably be 2^3 per chamber @ 38 with ports facing forward.

takin out the backseat alone would make a difference i see a difference every time.

If your skill level is up to it, remove the back seat and seal off the trunk with your box firing into the cabin.

Well the speakers are suppose to be in 2^3 each. But the box wont fit in my trunk

And sometimes when im driving alone or with 1 person, i lower the back seats and it sounds a lil louder.

I could make the box fire into the cabin, right now it's facing backwards because it looks nice and when i put it in i wasnt thinking about spl. If i put an mdf board to cover the hole from the cabin to the trunk, will i still have to take out my backseats?

Facing the subs into my cabin made a small difference to me but I didnt have them sealed off, which to me is the only way to ever keep my box this way.

Try different ways of facing box/ port. In my car port/sub sideways facing the drivers side was the loudest for me buy a db
