and by the way if you play a power akoustik 2400 watt amp on a mt a full volume it will blow sooner or later,but not because it couldn't take the power,but because nasty arse distortion.

mt's really aint made for daily,though you can run them that way,they were designed for pure spl,they still cool like the other guy said,the small holes around the bottom of the basket.

Correct, sort of. Not really turning up the gain, which would be adjusting sensitivity, you are increasing signal strength at a given frequency while the other freqs remain the same (as does the gain knob). This creates that spike in output at that corresponding freq. Most people dont realize signal voltage is also freq dependant. This is also how most EQs' cut/boost works.

I like that projection...Ive have seen an MT take a wall socket for quite some time..and repeatidly throw the breakers in the house...but not blow the MT.

i rememeber jt did that to his mts while they were in the box ports firing in the garage...he did a fairly long burp id say about 5seconds.... and it was louder than my font size

MTs can take a wall socket dammn near all day if wired in series.
