Two 12s in a GOOD, well designed ported box will shit all over 4 12s in a sealed box. I have 2 12s on 2500w (in a trunk, too) and the flex from low notes in ridiculous, it'll make quarters do flips in the cup holder. You'll never get that kind of output from a sealed box.Well my trunk is extremly wide and deep but its very shallow.. So space is limited to a point. But I've ran 2 Rockford fosgate punch hx2's in a sealed box for awhile. They were in a ported box tuned by my local shop but it didn't sound right to me. And I'm also 17 with other 16 n 17 year old friends.. So they love the low notes where everything shakes.. Didn't get that as much with the ported..
But definitely look at different subs and options. Maybe go with a single 15 in a ported box so you can buy a really nice woofer instead of multiple cheaper ones.
