How many Amps does an Amplifer need?

Yes but you need a power supply that gets the proper amount of amps. I was thinking of a car battery charger but the one i saw was 10 amps, not even close to the ~30 amps i need.
Being a computer geek im thinking of buying a mid range computer power supply //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

but add in another 100 for the car amp and its 180 for the "amp", which i can get a good home theater amp for easily.

i think as long as the PSU is a foot away it should be fine. i could probably find a way to reduce the signal noise too.

Computer PSU's work in the same way those power supplies work. they both have a 12V (or something near that) DC output. the only difference i can make would be the gauge of wire that the computer PSU's have
