How many Alt amps is needed for 2600-3000 watts

with that setup your stock alternator will most likely be fine. i doubt you will be pulling 2000 watts all the time. also, i would run 1/0 gauge to a t block in the back then four very short 4 guages from the block to the amps.

While you wont be pulling max amperage the whole time, I would say something around 100A at least. And dont try to bump hard while the car is off unless you plan on running multiple batteries. What amps are you running and how will you be wiring it?

If you want to get uber technical then

P=IE

I=P/E

I=2400/14.4(wishful thinking, I know)

2400/14.4

=167A

Assume 74% efficiency

167(.26)=43

167+43=210A

BUT, you will most likely NEVER pull 210A of current, I would say at most, ~130-150A.

Well SO MUCh of it depends on how you listen, when you listen, to what you listen, and what you use to listen with //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Ohms Law is great but it is just a generalization when it comes to this topic. Efficiency, current demand and all sorts of other things must be factored in to elicit a concrete answer.

I plan on wiring the 4 mtx 8000 dual voice coils @ 2ohms, one amp per sub, bridge all the amps to get the full 600w RMS per amp. The amps are MTX MXA6001 mono class D amps these peak at like 725 also i will be running a mtx 250 amp 200w RMS from this amp to run an 8"sub. So i will be running like 2600w RMS and peaking at like 3000 MAX
