How long does a recone from RE take?

Try getting Alpine, RF or even JL Audio to do that for you, then tell us how lousy that comment was.
Most of the time when people talk about RE they compare them to other higher end companies, which are usually smaller. Not main stream companies. I have waited about a year for my system all in all, so a little longer wait isnt a big deal. I dont want you guys to think I am *****en about about a three week wait. I just wanted to know.

 
Hay dude your NOT complaining... You paid for the sub, you've been waiting for the sub, I feel you have a right to know how long it's going to be, plain and simple.... I personally don't believe thats asking too much...

I checked every caller id in the house and neither of there numbers are on them and my cell phone is always with me and it wasnt called. I figure if he did ship it, it will be here saturday or monday and if its not here monday I will be real persistent.

 
Cheif, I wasn't basing any of my comments on your making this post. Sorry if it came across that way.

As far as comparing them to other high end companies, the companies I mentioned would be considered high end to most people (especially JL). Its not the quality that's the issue here, its the quantity. RE simply isn't a very large company (yet), they are having growing pains. Everyone loves the hand built quality/feel of the products and the inginuity (can you say xbl^2 from a small company called Adire) and reasonable prices that come from small manufacturers, but then everyone wants to complain that those small companies dont live up to their expectations for answering the phone, or the rep on the board didn't kiss enough crack, etc etc. This trend is nothing new with up and coming companies. At one time JL was where Adire and RE are now (minus the internet aspect). If you want the bonuses of going with a relatively small business (American business I might add), you should expect to have some negatives as well. Do I think its right to call RE in the middle of a business day and have the phone ring 30 times? No. But c'mon guys, if putting together and building a successful business were so easy, alot more of you 'experts' would be doing it.

singlesubsetup, imo your comments would depend on whether or not PSI's comments were true (about trying to contact this person repeatedly), or if he thought they were true (could be a simple mistaken identity case). If TeamPSI thought this was the person he was trying to contact 4 times in a week, only to find him on the board complaining about that very issue, I could understand him being frusterated. I guess I look at it that even representitives from manufacturers who post on this board have emotions too. Ive seen plenty of other reps get heated on this very board before. *shrug* The one issue I do agree with you somewhat is building the thing to the specs he thought. But again, if he did try to contact this person to no avail, at some point I would simply rebuild it to its original coil config also. Or I guess simply ship the still un-fixed sub back, which would simply result in a different type of negative reply on the boards (no offense meant to you or your thread Chief).

 
No offense is taken audioholic. You'd think those few times I called they could've asked me about how I wanted it done. But to be honest him picking is probally better than me picking cause I have no idea on coil configuration.

 
Me = Number 1 RE hater....nothing but bad experiences with them. I am running RE comps right now, and my brother is running RE subs. Decent product, but their service isn't the best.

I am now running Atomics and Mike and George have been nothing but good and prompt for me. Highly recommend them.

I DID call you 3-4 times dude. Your sub had some older type parts in it. I wanted to know whether or not you wanted to update them or to use the original type parts again. I didn't want to build it with different parts just in case you had two matching subs or something. Since I couldnt get in touch with you I just rebuilt it like it originally was....just to be safe.

The sub shipped yesterday. There is no way that it will be all the way back to Tenessee by Saturday... or even Monday. You should expect to have it Tuesday-Wednesday of next week.

BTW... The sub has been in the shop for ~2 weeks.

 
Is there a difference between the new parts and the older ones other than cosmetic differences. I included the time to be shipped as part of it. And did you call my cell or house. Customer service is already improving too! Chief

 
TEAM PSI are you the guy that you can hardly hear on the phone are is that someone different. And dont get the impression I was *****'n about your company, I have already told all my friends how much better my sub is than there's and how much "bigger".

DD has had my 9512 for a month waiting for a recone...you don't see me calling them everyday bugging them. it took them about 3 weeks to call me AFTER they got the sub. i didnt freak out. well im anxious to get it in my car so i can have 2 of them hooked up for once. just be patient, sheesh.

 
CHIT, Sound stream has had my amp for over 4 months now. Probably going to never get it back lol. Try dealing with that type of customer service...

We should probably let this die. It's been taken care of.
