How is this for a combo? Kicker Sub

caps are useless. In general, I would reccomend it over the kicker. Kicker gets a bad name on here, but the CVXs are not bad. In you link, I didnt see the sub you wanted...but the MBQ does 750@2 and 1500@1. A dvc4 wires to 2 (or 8) and a dvc2 wires to 1 (or 4)

but yes, you will need electrical upgrades to run that MBQ and your current amp. At least the big 3 upgrade (read the stickie in the wiring thread)

Get some 1/0 gauge wire and do the big 3 mod. If you wanna play it safe, then get a small extra battery like a Kinetic HC800 as well. Anywhere from 4 to 1/0 gauge should do for power and ground wire I would think.

I just saw a sundown amp on the classifieds that does 1500wrms...not sure at what resistance, but its only $200...a kickass deal for sundown from what I've seen.

That Fi sub and any of those amps will make a killer SQ setup. Make sure you get a proper box as well...that will affect not only the output but the frequency range and the sound quality (negatively or positively, depending on what it's designed for).

I feel like I'm setting up my own future setup //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Only difference is that I'll be running an spl sub to a high powered amp as well.

And if you do get that mbq amp...definitely get the 2 ohm sub. Since it is rated at 800wrms and it will be fed more or less 750wrms, that leaves room for you to add another sub to the amp if you are wanting more. If you got that HC800 Kinetic, then you would probably also want to get another, and either run 1/0 or another run of 2 or 4 gauge for the power and ground. In other words, if you want to double the output, it will be as simple as doubling the input //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I'm probably going to get those ssd12's and the mbq amp. The amp says at 4 ohms it pushes out 500 watts, and at 2 ohms it pushes out 1000. The speaker is dual 2 ohm, so it should get wired at 2 ohms? And would the extra 200 watts going to the sub be bad for it?

CADENCE 10" 2000w COMPETITION CAR AUDIO SUBWOOFER SUB - eBay (item 300408438877 end time Apr-17-10 12:02:23 PDT)

may i recomend this sub as it is a little better then all those subs i mentioned, it is a audioque hdc3 sub basically, same build house just different cap, compare the frame and soft parts. it is a aluminum coil.

the sub direct from cadence costs

Cadence Acoustic Systems ZRS10-1000-4

i have,

JBL GTO14001 - Monoblock Car Amplifier, Power Amp - Sonic Electronix

this amp i can send to you for 200 shipped. and does 1200rms at 4ohm perfect for this sub

"A dvc4 wires to 2 (or 8) and a dvc2 wires to 1 (or 4)"

So I'm going to buy the Fi SSD 12. It comes with an option for Dual 1 or Dual 2. Does this mean the Dual 2 can be wired down to 1 ohm, or 4 ohms? What does the dual 1 wire to? I don't really understand the difference //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

yes

What does the dual 1 wire to
.5 or 2

think of it like this, whenever dealing with a DVC sub, it either wires to twice its impedence, or half its impedence, for example a dvc4 wires to 8 (twice the impedence of 4) or down to 2 (half the impedence of 4)

thank you, finally starting to think i'm starting to understand this stuff. So for the dual 2 I can just get a two channel amp, bridge it at 4 ohms and it'll be compatible?

true...i had 1000rms of a/b on stock electrical, and it wasnt very happy
I was thinking about that too, I'm planning on doing the big three. If I do that will I have to upgrade my alt and battery? If I do the big 3 without upgrading the alt and battery will that be able to run a 1000 watt a/b amp?
