How is this for a combo? Kicker Sub

Well, that amp does about 600-650rms bridged at 4ohm. The thing is, it is not "2ohm stable" mono. So a dual 4 is not very compatible with that amp. Get a dual 2, or 2 dvc4s and wire to a 4ohm final load. Although, I dont know how a cvx would do off 300rms each. Id say get a single dvc2

Could you give me an example of that kind of amp?

basically any class d or mono amp is 2 ohm stable...that is a good amp, you just have the wrong configuration for it
The sub says its 4 ohm stable, as does the amp. Do all subs need a 2 ohm amp to push it? I wanted to run everything at 4 if possible.

that sub is dvc tho. that means it has 2 four ohm coils, which when wired together makes 2ohm (or 8ohm in series)...but no, all subs do not need a 2ohm amp to push it, only those that configure at 2ohms. A svc4ohm, or a dvc2 in series wires to 4ohm

look at this page...Rockford Fosgate® - Woofer WiringWizard

input your speaker(s) and it will tell you how to wire it

Sorry for such stupid questions, I just want my system to sound good and not be hooked up wrong like most people. Would any mono or class d amp work with this sub? And is this sub 2x2 or 2x4? Also, is it true even though an amp could push out lets say 800 at 1 ohm and 400 at 4 ohm, would the volume be the same on both? I heard it was better to run it at a higher ohm.

yes, a mono or class d would be great for that sub. thats sub is 2x4 (2 4ohm coils).

About the volume, no it wouldnt be the same. Doubling of power theoretically adds 3db, in other words, you would notice the difference. and yes it is typically better to run at a higher ohm load because the system doesnt struggle as much to produce the power, problem with that is finding sufficient power at higher ohm loads.

Thanks alot. So I was looking at spending around 200 for an amp to run this sub at 4 ohms. Is that possible, or should I spend more? Also I've been looking at brands but I hear such and such over performs and underperforms, are there any known brands to stay away from?

If you could, what makes these better subs?
Everything. Price, output, build quality, flexibility, and especially sound quality.

I find it amazing how cheap that Fi SSD 10 is...800 watts rms and a flatwound voice coil, brand new for under $200?? That's insane. And that motor is so sexy...I know what I'm getting for my next sound quality sub!

I guess I couldn't go wrong for under 200. Any recommendations for an amp to power it?

well, you need a 2ohm load as you have a dvc4...

.MBQuart 1500d...rated at 750rms at 2ohm, can likely push slightly more than that...210$ shipped on ebay, quality amp......

also, search the classifieds here

Thank you, I'll probably get this one. As reconmended I might buy this one https://ssl.perfora.net/www.ficaraudio.com/sess/utn;jsessionid=154bc8911b5e9be/modules/warenkorb.php4?backlink=https%3A%2F%2Fssl.perfora.net%2Fwww.ficaraudio.com%2Fsess%2Futn%3Bjsessionid=154bc8911b5e9be%2Fshopdata%2F0050_Speakers%2F0040_SSD%2Fproduct_overview.shopscript would this work with that amp at 2 ohms? and would you reconmend this sub over the kicker one. Ha one more question, I have stock electric in my car, and i already have a 300 watt 4 channel amp running, am I going to need a cap?
