How good are the old rockfords?

My friend wants a new system so he has perfectly mint punch 400a4 and a punch 800a2, are these good rockford amps? if so how much would be fair for both of them in mint condition?

They are good amps. Not the most sought out generations and certainly not my favs, but they will get the job done nicely. I would expect 900-1000RMS from the 800a2. It is conservatively rated for 800RMS at 4 ohm bridged. I wouldn't spend too much though.

I'd say in good condition

$200 for the 800a2

$100 for the 400a4

I'd go lower than that for scratched, missing end`caps, or otherwise beat up.

well pretty old....not super old school but what about 10 years old? this kid keeps everything perfect, id be surprised if i would find a single scratch on them
