Not to ruin the fun on this thread, but GPRacer, you got any pics of the progress.
I've made little progress, haven't had time for pics. I'm working my *** off to get some wheels/paint for this baby.
But it's completely glassed on, completely smooth all the way around. Next is to sand the hell out of it and bondo it to get it completely smooth, then paint!
And there is NO metal underneath the scoops except for very small portions of the supports. As far as the actual sheet metal, nothing, nada. Just a small support running diagonal.
Did you think i was going to leave it just looking like fiberglass?
Of course i'm going to paint it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
I'm debating what color to go with on the car though. I'm thinking something like a black cherry so the scoops won't be so gaudy.
your car will never be a ***** am.
Lol. Another proof of ignorance on the board. Did i saw i wanted it to be a ***** Am? I like them, but as stated, they are straight line. Anyone can drive a car in a straight line. Sure it takes skills to hit it just right at the light, but on the street? Anybody can do that shit.
i'm more for turns anyway, thus doing a custom suspension setup. i have a rear transverse leafspring that i had custom made in Canada for stiffness. Complimented by KYB GR-2's and poly bushings all over the place. Intrax springs up front, 1 1/8" front sway bar on poly. THe car handles **** well. Speaking of which, at the local autocross last weekend i stomped a T/A by like 2 seconds. They are nice cars, i'm not bashing them, but i love my FWD for handling/turning/autocross/roadcourse racing.
