Update on the doors. Should have pics of the hood this weekend

Yep, I did just read the whole thread from beginning to end, lol! I have no life.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Is amazing how you put one pic on here and BAM, everyone is on your shit. I mean I love these cars and almost picked one up before I bought my cavalier. I just wasnt diggin the gas mileage on it. But they are nice cars.

I respect what you are doing, and the whole hood thing is not my style, but will say do your thang mang! I am sure it will look good or will to you and that is all that matters. So dont let all these tightwads on here get you down.

I am cool with you eugenics, but have to say you do this alot and even have done it to me. We will be *****ing back and forth, cracking, making fun, whatever to try to piss eachother off. I see you doing the same thing on here. You talk all this shit about this kids car and go off on him and then like 3 pages latter your like his best friend. Again, I hope I am not pissing you off, but I just letting you know that you do alot of this. I am sure you will go off and say something smart, so I will let it go and not say shit back. I just dont understand you sometimes.

Peace!

a well respected response, BBT. Thanks for the compliments too!

And what was wrong with the gas mileage? What kind of GP did ya look at? i can get 33-36 MPG on the highway. Even my mom's new Buick Regal (not too much heavier, but more power) gets about 30.5 if the wind's to her favor //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Of course i've REALLY taken care of my engine, although sometimes i beat the hell out of it, for the most part, it's well maintained! hehe

And it's good that you've had at least a little experience with these cars. You can't really fully understand one until you own/drive it, then you can really appreciate it. It's funny, because everyone says it's "a small car" but, it's really not. I'm 6'5 and i can comfortably drive with someone sitting behind me. It's just such a well designed, proportional car, i love it!

for the geniuses who couldn't figure out that the hood scoops would actually be MOLDED INTO the hood, here's a pic as it sat last week. It's ready to be painted pretty much. Just a final sanding and then a couple layers of primer.

paint color the car is going to be. This was a test run for this paint, as it has a lot of toners, as well as a new kind of clear coat. This pic has TWO layers paint and ONE clear coat, and this is after it set for a day. For the final we're going three layers paint and FIVE clear coat.

It's a deep metallic black with a red metallic pearl kinda. It's a GORGEOUS effect.

And it is a functional hood. The turbo setup that i picked up (from the VERY limited production Turbo Grand Prix) is angled to where the filter sits parallel with the radiator support, OR RIGHT where the scoops are.

And if you say "your car doesn't require ram-air", well, guess what, NO street cars "require" ram-air.

The rest of the old door frames are completely molded onto the shell now, nice and smooth!

I also got hooked up with a SEVEN way remote system

Haha, i've got some being developed right now.

Actually the rest of the car, well some of it looks like ***. It's going back to the paint shop to get finished up. Overall, in general, i love it. Clean work, looks great. Paint is pretty sweet, but the guy got sloppy with it. I'll have pics up sometime in the next couple days.
