damm prowler thats harsh... what the man ment to say is that an external cap for car audio use is very rarely beneficial

I'm sure he's big and scary enough to clarify his blanket generalization that is patently wrong if he chooses.

As stated it is a complete farce and the form in which it is found is what I responded to.

I have a 3 farad cap... got it for free, so no flaming please... but anyways, i notice it helps with voltage drops at my amp... before i ran it, the power light would blink red (on alpine v12s it meant low voltage, 10-12v) and now it stays green all the time, telling me that there is 14v+... also, the cap has a digital voltmeter, and its fun to watch as the bass drops. My lights still dim and it drags the wussy 4 banger down about 50 rpms when the bass drops, but my stereo still sounds good.

Not to say that caps are for everyone... dont get me wrong. I still need a HO alt...

i am running 2 12" linear compression audiobahns that are rated at 2000 watts a piece so figure 1200 - 1500 if im lucky and for amps i have 2 of the audiobahn 2500 watt amps so once again figure with them 2000 watts but there detuned so i dnt fry the subs i am currently running them at 2 ohms the boxes are 3.86 cubic feet for each sub and the box is tuned to 18.3 hhz its a ported box i have an optima battery with 3 1 farad caps and of course im running 0/1 gauge power and ground wire its a stock altenator actually its still the origianl one and my head lights dnt even blink the system is real loud i was shocked i can turn on all my neons at night with my head lights on and have the system cranked up and nothing
