How do you remove the alternator from an 06 civic?

Step 1 find a midget

Step 2 have him uninstall the alt

lol no, but it is tight in that area find the wing nut than loosen the 2 bolts that are on that bracket than loosen the wing nut until the belt comes loose. Than unbolt the alt and unhook the wires to it and your done. Than in the reverse order install your new one.

How do you do it? I'm trying to help my budduy put a h.o. Alt in his car, thanks in advance guys!
If you can't figure out how to remove it, you shouldn't be working on that vehicle...

I can't even find an alternator at all on my 08 Civic //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif....I was going to do the big 3

unplug wires, loosen the belt with the push/pull bar (make sure you don't lose it, set it to the side), take 2 bolts out put new alternator in and put everything back together

its about 45min job, thats how long it took me to do this my first time, after that its a 20min job

uh, I hope he is planning on a bigger amp in the future. That'd be a waste getting a HO alt for 1500wrms
he told me his lights were dimming real bad (has a single 4 ga run to his rf 1500 amp and a cheap boss amp running his comps) so I sold him 35 ft of knu 0 gauge and told him to replace his 4 ga with the 0 gauge and to do the big 3, so then he goes out and overnights a h.o. alt and spends 12 hours installing it lol.

I need to do the big three upgrade on my Civic coupe, but there are a lot of "road blocks" with the wiring. I noticed that the wire that goes from the battery to the accessory box has a direct connection via flat plate. I can't find the power wire that is going from the battery to the alternator, once it goes into the accessory box. I am sure that I will figure something out, but I shook my head today looking at it. Also, were you able to find a grommet to run the 0 gauge through the fire wall, or did you all just drill through it?
