just wondering, cause i dont even see how this would be possible.. like how do you screw it together? or do you just use glue? i havent seen any pics on here of anyone assembling a box inside of a trunk and really dont see how it would be possible, unless u have a huge *** trunk or are building a small *** box... idk someone share? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

dont even know what the hell your talking about

are you talking about Clean installs? Installs made to look more factory? You dont "build" it in the trunk. You measure, build the box, put it in the trunk, measure, model out the walls and amp racks with cardboard if you want. Cut your wood to match the model, install.

haha no i mean like... i guess rather than building the box and then putting it inside the trunk, actually putting it together inside the trunk... idk i've just heard people talk about this before maybe i wasnt understanding correctly

naw mines gonna fit, just 90accordman said something about building a box inside a trunk and i know theres no way i could have done that i dont think... so i was just wondering what he meant

naw im not actually doing it...

just saying, seeing as my trunk is only just over 15" high i dont see how in the hell i could get at it to screw it together...

so i take it no one has done this and its prolly impossible unless you have a massive trunk and are building a small box, which in that case you could prolly just stick it in through the trunk opening... lol

when i get home i'll post pics if i remember of my build, i used glue and an air nail gun to put my box together for the most part. it was a 6 cube box, so it wasnt small but not huge.

the top was my last piece so i was able to let usea carpenters square to insure everything was perfect before putting the top on

For large boxes in small trunks, it's pretty much necessary to do the final assembly inside the trunk. It requires a lot more planning than building the box outside the car and then just sticking it in the trunk, but once you've figured out how to hold it together with fasteners that you can reach and done some basic preassembly outside the car, it isn't that much harder to actually do.
