I dont know it looks nice to me though! What is it? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif note: i know exactly nothing about amplifier design, so.. Take it for what its worth!
I do hope we can start fresh. Again, apologies if you were offended.

Huh?

Crunch looks beefier, imo

It does appear that way! Earlier in the thread it was argued (onthe sq vs hifonics debate) that looks were irrelevant. It does seem that that would apply universally, no? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif btw- i pqid less than a hundred for this amp, i know id take that over a crunch anyhow

Fwiw- im boxing it up today to get it shipped to the repair center that rf recommended! $165 to get it completely refurbished (mechanically). Pretty stoked!

Sorry. Its a quite common thing to do in vintage audio. Over time caps swell, values Change, gair pots get scratchy, etc. i just got some old kicker amps back from kicker for the same thing, before that it was some diamond d7s . The phoenix phorum used to have a bunch of people who did this to their amps (from new internals to new screenprinted adjustment text), etc. Ppi arts, etc. i understand your position, and respect your input, but youre misinformed if you think the only reason to rebuild is a serious problem!
I have a kicker zr360 that I'd like to send back and get refurbed as well, got the info on where to send it and all?

To a point, yes. Can't tell the quality or quantitative values of the components from pictures like these. Can tell the density of components on the board and physical size though.

How is it considered refurbished if it is getting new parts that were never in the design plan of the amp in the first place?

I would consider that repaired to working order and not refurbished.

The caps, fuse lines, transformers, and electro rods will all be placed with new cheap parts. It will for sure make the amp less efficient then its original specs due to the parts used previously being sourced anymore.
