How do I get more channels in my car's TV?

Well, Thanks for all the info guys.

I'm still not too sure what to do, I already have a unit, so I wouldn't want to buy a new one in 2009. I want to keep the one I have, and use it in 2009, with a clear picture. I don't watch it too much, as I have Sirius, DVDs, and a massive collection of CDs. But I figure, if I got it, I might as well have it work.

I run TV in my vehicle and have since changed over to the digital signal. It is possible to get these channels in your car.All you need is one AC/DC converter to plug the digital converter box into_One antenna with a coax to plug into the digital converter box.One set of A/V cables. And one zenith(my prefreance) digital converter box.Simply plug in the AC/DC converter, then plug the digital converter power into that.Screw the coax into the antenna in on the back of the box, then run the A/V cables from the output on the back of the digital converter box.I know zenith has them as this is the one I use.You will get more channels with alot better quailty of picture. However I still get the flickering.

Awesome

I looked at the converter boxes, they look kind of big, might have to put it under my passenger seat or something, doesn't look like I can hide that under the dash with the rest of the stuff.

Thanks for the info.

Update. Got my converter, Installed it today. All I can say is wow.

On power up it scanned for digital signals, Only found 8, kinda dissapointing, but those that it picks up were outstanding. Better pic quality then the vcr even. when off i can still use the antenna and pick up a few more, but they are not clear, you know, snowy. So I expect in 2-09 when all tv goes digital there may be some more staition available.

I still cut to cut the console to install it, sause it need to be seen by the remote it comes with. like a dvd player, tv must be on channel 3, and the new remote controls all functions.

note, I had used an extension cord to power it up, Im not sure if the inverter will or will not cause issues. I will update when 100% installed.

Yes you will need a converter box. the picture on digital tv is either all or nothing and if you get a weak signal it won't be snow it will be pixelized. A converter will not make your picture clearer, all it does is converts the signal from digital to analog so your tv will be able to read it. I would try a magnetic CB antenna and replace the antenna whip that comes on it. Go by any car parts store and buy a 31 inch Whip antenna for a radio or buy one of thoes stubby rubber duck antennas either will work and can be taken down if you want to. And also remember when traveling you will be entering and leaving TV and radio markets so get print out a list of tv stations on your route so you know which stations to tune to.

good luck and hope this helps
