How do I get more channels in my car's TV?

I never said I had Cable, I stated that my tv/vcr has coax. and the converter box will be installed on the antenna line, witch is a coax cable. How do you think all those hill billys in the ozacs will get tv? who gonna run cable to some shanty shack 100 miles in the back woods? hence the converter box. turns digital signal (broadcast in the airwaves) to analog, the kind of tvs that are not connected to a "cable line. Are we clear? Good.

acutually in converts the signal from analog to digital.
i no a shi t ton about those boxes man, u dont have to lecture me about them,

also theres no need to be a dick

FCC rules require that digital-to-analog converter boxes be able to convert over-the-air digital closed captioning for display on analog TV sets.

I dont mean to be a dick, your doing quite fine by yourself. And yes, and no, my tv is a mobile tv. 12 volt power. it has no 120 volt capabilities. As far as a HU tuner, Thats why I suggested waiting till 2009 and seeing whats out there. There is no reasonable solution at the moment with out lots of add ons.

Its actually called analog pass through. Most Every channel is going to digital, no matter what, u cant make it switch back to analog. Now some of the local channels in the "ozacs" dont neccesarily need to do the switch( its to expensive for them). So thats why sme ppl need the analog pass through feature, for those few channels.

Feb 2009 All Channels are going to be required to broadcast in digital! For people who DO NOT HAVE CABLE, you will have to get a digital to analog converter box if your TV does not have a digital tuner in it. All over the air broadcasting will be digital.

not all of them...like i said some hickerbilly stations that dont have the funds will still broadcast in analog....thats why some converter boxs have the built in analog pass through. Also, they have that feature, so u can hook ur box up b4 the switch over, so u can still watch the channels that havent switched to digital and have till feb.

where u at edzy, i see u looking, u having anything else to say back.

just curious //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

As I stated in my first post, in his set up, he should wait till the new digital HU's are released. My case is a mobile TV. 2 diffrent set ups. In his case a converter will not hook up, in my case it will. So what case are you arguing? The analog to digital? digital to analog? hillbillys watch ****? what ? anyway, ive posted all the info I have about the conversion. I also stated I will post results of my converter hook up. Im sure theres a way with adapters and stuff to make a converter box work with a tv tuner HU, but as some one else stated, they would need a decoder, a convertr, a inverter , its aint worth it, unless you need to catch Rachel Ray making pouting faces daily on the drive to work.
