are it in parallel with the one under the hood. make sure they are the same style...AGM, wet, dry...

Lets say a wet one in the front and a dry one in the back or the other way around.

Umm, I dont think theres any harm in adding different types of batteries .....correct me if im wrong

Depends on several things... the size, age, type of the two batts. The most important thing is how frequently you drive your car. If it is driven everyday, your not likely to have much problems... unless one batt is too old. If your car sits for weeks at a time its a diff story. If you dont want to take a chance... get an isolator...
