Tangled Up in Blue
Not really //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.giftube's are just a different staging type of amp instead of say class a,ab,c,d etc etc etc. it's hard to really explain exactly what they are but most people say they sound "warm". i know my ppi td's sounded tits.
Single ended triodes or pentodes fall under Class A amplification, as there's only one output device per channel and it's used for 360 degrees of the waveform.
Push pull output stages with two or more tubes per channel are most likely Class AB, depending on how they're wired.
All-tube amps for car audio are extremely rare, because of the power demands...when you're dealing with an amp that may only be 20% efficient, it's not going to work very well in a vehicle where you don't have a lot of power to go around. It's much more common to have a tube preamp stage and a MOSFET power amplifier, like what Phaze did, or Butler, or USAmps...do they make car tube amps, or just home audio?
