How did you all get into car audio?

i meant to type 6 i am just retarted tonite. and im saying it would be funny if he was that old and he didnt have his license. so, uhh... how bout them niners?
I forget the model number but it was pretty freggin big. Took up lots of real estate in the cab of an '81 Silverado with a Cowboy Camper I know that much.85w/channel actually works pretty well with subs rated for 150w rms. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

This should make for an interesting conversation. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/popcorn.gif.32dd9e22fd77e77bc3c907062768fcd2.gif

I wasn't kidding about the tube-driven amateur gear, btw. Such creatures most assuredly exist.

Novice ticket at 14? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/clap.gif.178cba2c538c68e720c727fcb024b19c.gif Nice.

Got any tube-driven amateur gear?
Nah, never got the Novice. Went in as a Tech...think I got it the year or two before they finally dropped the Novice one altogether. Never could pass the 20wpm Morse test though...grr...oh well, doesn't matter now anyway now that it's 5wpm across the board //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

No tube based stuff here for that. Although I've worked on a friend's 3-500Z based amp...scary stuff when you're dealing with voltages that high, you really want to make sure capacitors are discharged first //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif One of those amps that are "rated" at 1.5kW PEP, but capable of double that without breaking a sweat //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

lol @ rev. stupid nikka!

i got into home audio before i even started with car audio. build my own speakers using dayton drivers. sounded very good with the x-overs i built for em. had em powered by a nice denon receiver. but then a truck came along, so i sold everything and threw all the cash i had into my stereo, and every pay check i get, another peice of equipment gets added to the blazer! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

just my lil story for all of you still awake...specially you rev //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Just as one could not fully describe the meaning of Zen in a few convienent paragraphs, one can not describe the audio enlightenment of vacuum tubes either in such a short space...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I think there needs to be a thread in the home audio section, I know I've written some basic stuff about it in there before.
