How did you all get into car audio?

Just as one could not fully describe the meaning of Zen in a few convienent paragraphs, one can not describe the audio enlightenment of vacuum tubes either in such a short space...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
I think there needs to be a thread in the home audio section, I know I've written some basic stuff about it in there before.
you should make one, i should read it. do they make car tube amps, or just home audio?

tube's are just a different staging type of amp instead of say class a,ab,c,d etc etc etc. it's hard to really explain exactly what they are but most people say they sound "warm". i know my ppi td's sounded tits:D.

on topic, i got into audio when my what is now a best friend showed me his 94' i want to say nissan ext. cab truck with the 18"s he had and the bed top cover. god that thing was so, no racial offense here but, it was so mexican ghetto it was tight lol. it was painted a semi bright green but he had 2 Orion XTR 15"s off a lot of power can't remember what. he's been the only installer i'd ever have do/help me on an install and that is 6 years running now. My first system was 2 HE 12"s, pioneer 7300, rockford fanatic x 5.25" comps in q-logic kicks and some rockford 6.5"s in my rear doors with a Rockford 400a4 on the speakers and a BD 1000.1 on the subs. I swear i changed subs out every 12-14 days lol. 4 months later I stepped it up to 2 HE2 12"s fried the amp and had no bump. 2 months later I had my RF back and upped it to 4 HE 12"s. 2 months after that, swapped the HE 12"s for HE2 12"s and a 2nd bd1000.1 lol. I had by far and away the loudest system of any 17yr old i knew.

I think we should make this a sticky, What do you all think...
I think if we ever were to hang out and I remembered this thread I'd smack joo upside de head lol. how dare a texan' say "you all", spell that bish right it's "YA'LL"!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I was but, some people dont understand that...

my buddy showed me his grand pri that had 2 12" l7's and after hearing them...i got addicted to bass. its now something i must have in every car i own.

so i went ahead and bought my first noobie setup: 2 12" audiobahns in a bandpass box that was ready to be wired up and an audiobahn a8000t amp. it was great but i sure did messed up my amp settings (bass boost high).

Car amps, home amps, and amateur (ham) and CB radio gear as well (both car and home)

I think I'll smack joo upside the head for not knowing it's y'all (slang contraction for 'you all', remember? Is 'Ya' any part of 'You'??)

lol you obviously haven't been through the Tx public school system lol. we poked fun at that junior year and my teacher forever made me change the way i type/write it. i know it's wrong but it's nostalgic.
