i detailed my car last week. it takes me an average of 4hrs to do a full detail of exterior and interior. i would take a pic now but it's dark outside.i find it funny though that i have like 8 different bottles of wax. it's like each time i detail i find a new wax and feel like trying it out.

Wax is outdated. Do yourself a favor and buy yourself some nice automotive paint sealant. If the car is garaged, the sealant will effectively protect the paint for 8 months or more. You're lucky if your wax lasts a month, even if its garaged.
Seal the car twice a year, wax four times a year. Your car's paint surface will never come into contact with the environment. And never, ever take your car to the car wash if you care about the paint, including brush-less car washes.

But, just to say I have that real expensive Meguairs wax, the NXT stuff and lasts a long *** time. Just was it and it gleams for months. I do spend a lot of time when detailing it though.

I also take my cars to brushless and regular car washes and mine looks perfect, minus some scratches on the plastic part around the windows, which I don't get why they put that there.......

Lol, you can still see the negative camber while it is driving. Buddys truck is like that as well and amazingly it rides decent.

When I first got my 04 Dakota 5 years ago it got a hand wash and wax probably once per week. Died down to once per month. Then once every couple months. One year I did the complete 3 step process with hand washing, clay bar, hand polish, hand wax. Took the better part of the day.

Now I think I probably had a professional detail with buff/polish/wash once last year and might have done a really thorough hand wash and wax once, maybe twice that year in addition to that. IT's shameful really, I need to try to get back into the once per month pattern.

It's been cold here like most places in the Northeast so I haven't been able to really get at it like I'd like to. I normally prefer to leave it alone until I get a chance to properly wash it by hand but it was filthy and that wasn't going to happen anytime soon so I ran it through a car wash for probably the 3rd or 4th time in 5 years.

Tip for anyone considering rims: Polished aluminum SUX TO CLEAN.

I do car detailing on the side this is one I did the owner never waxed it or anything. My car gets waxed twice a month of the weather is good for it and I do a quick detail spray and whip down about once a week to twice a week always have the spray in the car and a microfiber towel. Mothers wax and polished gotta love it!!!

Honestly I don't get why you guys are waxing your car so much.

If you are using a good wax, only need to do that 2-3 times a year if that. and just use a detail spray and microfiber towel for when you need it after a wash.
