I think that should read "I got the right amp and I had my friend tune the ports"

Are you dyslexic or are there more serious issues we should be concerned about?

Make sure the low pass filter on the amp is tuned just below the tuning of the box.
No. A low pass filter is set a certain way to allow the frequencies BELOW the filter to be played. A LPF is generally set around 60-80hz for subs, depending on you install and what you prefer. I think you're confusing the LPF with the subsonic filter, which is just a HPF used to eliminate tones too far below box tuning.

I'm pretty sure that's what he meant

So you got all that high end gear but you can't tune a box or set an amp...

TROLL
X2 on a major way. My question is if your brought this stuff new you paid more than a grand but you didn't read on how to probally set the amp. Take a pic of the settings

nah i just really dont want to srew anything up, me and my friend tuned the amp with 60hz test tone and the gain is set perfect. its just that one problem

possible that the rca running to the headunit, are not pluged in to the sub output conects?

and they are on the high level rca's ?

or check headunit for low cutoff settings. it might be that.

actually - if you wana ghetto rig just to check, walmart sells rca cable that plugs in to I pod

and you can run your sub / amp right off I pod, bypassing the hu altogether to test sounds / lows.

that would eliminate your hu as a problem right there.

wow i feel like retard, so im playing wit the headunit and i see that the hpf was set to 63hrz and i shut it off and now im hitting lows, sorry i wasted all ur time
