well Obama is calling for a big giant stimulus plan to have ready to sign right after he steps into office, whether needed or not, that sure will stir up the conservatives. they wont complain when they get that check though.

They are doing work the across the street from me. I should look into that. No matter how bad shit is, new roads and crap are always being built.

thats the way to go.... especially if its big company, they might give ya the shit work like sweeping and cleanin, but hey its a job... ya gotta start somewhere

Residential construction has come to a complete halt around here. Commercial construction contractors have laid off half their workers and aren't hiring anyone. I'm a residential contractor and if things don't start selling soon I'm going to have to find another line of work for a while.

Residential construction has come to a complete halt around here. Commercial construction contractors have laid off half their workers and aren't hiring anyone. I'm a residential contractor and if things don't start selling soon I'm going to have to find another line of work for a while.

AGREED. My father is a superintendent for a large construction company. There is NO work, and it seems that it is going to stay that way for some time.

I install / manufacture hurricane shutters

mostly work in the field installing them tho.

50% of them are on highrise buildings near the beach.

around 12 to 18 stories tall.

I get to hang out the window on a little board to stand on,

and have a saftey rope / harness that id rather not rely on for saving my life if I fell.

add to that - using a bad *** hammer drill with one hand

while holding on to the building with the other hand.

and then lifting 100+ pounds of aluminum hurricane shutter up out there to

its position of instalation.

i dont exactly hate my job.

but some days id rather sleep in for shure.
