Horrible voltage drop. What do i need to fix/upgrade?

I will most likely ordered it when i order more wire again, there was also like a split in the wire jacket from melting, like i said though it might of been caused from the loose connection or because of what we had said earlier. So go for a 120amp fuse?
If its knu cca id stay at 80 amp as thats its max rating.

Or you can do what others have said and use the fuse that doesnt blow.

Not everyone uses the same setup, pretty much just what works best or is safer.

FUSE??? All this talk of the fuse possible being a cause is strange to me. Has any body EVER measured varying voltage drops change from different size fuses?

I've done many experiments with fuses and always found fuses to ether work, or it blows. The only time a fuse caused a a voltage drop for me was right before it would blow. Personally I have always tried to use the smallest fuse i could get away with and it has never caused any voltage drop. I change fuses till i could get a fuse to blow from playing music then use the next size or two sizes up fuse.

Op, like mentioned before, your issue is most likely wire, wire connection points, or ground.
I wouldnt even worry about fuses either in lower power setups like this.

Larger power is where you find most resistance drop from fusing.

Especially when you want near perfect voltage from front battery to back battery.

Just an update my issue is solved, as far as i know.

but it would be interesting to see if there where any results (i dont think so) i wouldnt think so but if i had a bunch a fuses i would test it just to see.

I agree. A faulty, or undersized fuse, is very low on the list of voltage drop culprits. That is the point I was trying to make.

Again, size your wire based on current draw needs. Then size your fuse based on wire capacity. Done. At that point, your fuse becomes an almost-always non issue.

So why are you getting a voltage drop and it's supposed to be a ground issue but wait you said you did the B3 upgrade so how could Dodge be to blame. I'm an automotive Technition and have worked on 100's of Rams take it to a shop and have them scan it for codes and not a OBD2 scan you want a manufacturer specific scan I've seen vehicles in the 1000's that have low voltage codes and no those codes won't turn your check engine light on that would be my next step because if it has an issue within one of the many modules/computers and you go and try this and then that you may never find your problem if it a bad module causing it even try asking at your local parts store sometimes they will do a scan for you for free but remember which scan you need done. I just went through this on my personal 05 Ram 2500 and do you want to guess where I found my problem . It was actually the instrument cluster. That is also a module hell your window and lock switches are modules on cars now days it's a quick check and possibly free why not have it done or go double check your B3 because if it was Dodge's fault the B3 would have made it non existent but even at that it's probably your alt because of how low your volts get.
