hey everyone, i'm lookin to get a 4ch amp and a set of components, but before i go out buying all the chit, which way would be better to hook up the equipment?

1. buy a spool of speaker wire and run directly from amp to each speaker????

2. i see this stuff called 9 conductor speed wire, i assume i can run that speed wire from amp to dash and hook it all up to factory wires.

any thoughts on that speed wire stuff? i saw a guy on the lexus forums do an install from amp to speakers directly and it looked like a PITA for the LS, i'd really prefer using that speedwire, but not sure if 18awg per conductor is a tad thin for 80 rms or so per channel?

PS.

lookin at the mb quart onyx 4 X 80 @ 4ohms as well as some polk db5251 or infinity reference

I don't even like 18 gauge for remote wire, lol.. and stock 4" pioneer components is a contradiction in terms.. Stick with running the speakers off of some descent 16 awg minimum from ur amp..

my car came out the factory with a pioneer "premium sound system" so how is that contradicting lol, but i guess i will just go straight from amp to doors with beefier wiring. thanks!

woops.. I just noticed you mentioned buying components to replace the stock Pioneers. Good idea.. You can run 2 pairs off a 4 ch amp ya know..
