Hey...

This guy is telling me that his buddy hooked up his amp to his alternator...does this make sense, or is it even possible? I've never heard of hooking a system up to just your alternator...I thought it had to be from the battery...I mean the alt. generates current which charges the battery, and the battery has voltage...??? Tell me this guy is full of sh_t please //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

His buddy is an idiot

It works when not running because there's also a wire going from alternator to battery. So they're connected anyway. I just put my amp power wire at the alternator end of the wire instead of the battery end. With 8 gage wire and 300 watts it's no difference.

I chose to do this because I have a side terminal battery and the terminals are a pita to deal with. Using the alternator output stud was simply one #10 ring terminal and it's done. Simple.
