Home Theater Subwoofer Enclosure

I added some bracing for port piece 1 and 2 of the L, port piece 2 up to the front, rear to front, and side to side. How long should I wait before testing? I used tite bond III with no other products, it says clamp for 30min, wait 24hrs to apply force. Take this seriously or can I test it before tomorrow? I kind of want to see if I need to do a couple top-bottom braces.

might as well let it dry completely....you might have to take up some volume in that box if the sub is bottoming out too easy. Is there any type of subsonic filter on that amp?

No, not much besides T/A, bass, treble, and different speaker levels.

I think the bracing will take up some..... Ill just wait the 24hrs, try it tomorrow, and if the same stuff is happening, Ill add more bracing and that will take up more volume. I feel that the bracing will do a good enough job, I can definitely tell a difference in before and after. The sub hole is a little tight and I could feel the front baffle flex when I took the sub out and put it in. Now with the bracing its very solid, I just hope its solid all around now.

you can just use cut up 2x4s to take up space until you find the ideal volume. Secure them in place after you find out how many you need.

Sorry they are so huge and sideways, I dont know why they came out like that, my camera normally does a good job.

That might be part of the problem. That thing is probly only pushing 30w RMS
hahaha what is problematic about that? It seems to me that with a large box with low tuning, low power would be optimal. Also..... my subwoofer is bottoming out and the box flexes because I only have 30rms going to it? I dont get what you are saying, in no way shape or form would 30rms cause the box to flex or the sub to bottom out..... unless the amp was clipping or the box was WAY to big.... the amount of power is not the problem. Thanks though.

No, I guess thats because of crappy construction. my bad

But, I wouldnt consider it crappy construction, the design and assembly and cuts were pretty much right on. The wood thickness was just not on par with a box that large. After adding the bracing it works/sound great. I could have doubled up all the panels or just used regular 3/4" and it probably wouldnt have had that problem.

So the bracing helped out?

I am still letting the tite bond cure/dry because its says wait 24hrs. BUT as far as overall durability or sturdiness it has majorly increased and I do not expect to have more problems. Ill test it tonight and see if i need to do anything else. I can stand on the box and move my weight up and down and the box seems to be not flexing or making noises or anything. I have done this while its drying on each side quite a few times to make sure its still holding strong.

I have played music and it sounds fine, I just have yet to crank it on low notes to see if it is how I want it sounding

Finally tested it out with some high volume and low notes. The bracing is suffice. The wood resonating and subwoofer noise have both stopped. It sounds great. Thanks for the 5cuft and 20hz tuning recommendations!

I know its dark, again, most of the time my camera does a good job. The display screen is cracked so I cant preview before I upload. If you guys really want to see it, Ill take another video.
