Yep. You can't really have a woofer that shallow with a really high xmax. 10-12mm xmax is honestly about as much you can realistically hope for.

10-12 mm still isnt bad

Man, this is awesome. JL, Clarion, Kicker, Earthquake, etc are all making slim subs. They know the reg. cab trucks are where it's at. The plot gets thicker, as if I wasnt already confused as how to get SPL out of my truck.

Its great JL jumped on the slim sub bandwagon too, only problem is that wagon has been on the trail for a while now...and everyone seems to be comming to market with them around the same time. This means that no company is specifically cashing in on slim mount designs - which means a level playing field for all companies in the slim driver mount racket. This is probably a good thing, the consumers will have plenty of choice and the priceing will be somewhat sane.

i know you guys dont like audiobahn but they had some pretty shallow subs. Like made with a silver cone ill see if i can find them. I think my cousin was going to buy them until he found how bad this forum hated audiobahn.

yes audio bahn has a flat piston woofer. it was actually really good too.
