high quality power cable - home depot?!

That statement has proved to me your head is entirely too far up your *** for logical reasoning to bring back.
Have a nice day, and I hope someday in the future you'll understand why you sound like such an arrogant prude.
Might be a prude but at least $.25 extra per foot of cable isnt going to make or break me like youre acting.

You mean to tell me that youd spend $400 per watt but wouldnt kick in an extra $20 into your install to get a product actually made for car use??Wow,whos the idiot here????

Call Angel Distributors and ask em there price on wire which is cheaper than what you guys are saying welding cable go's for(last I bought from NAPA was $1.50 per foot)

The wire isn't MADE strictly for car use. It's just marketed that way. You can get stranded OFC for home use as well that is the same cable, but with a solid color jacket and marketed for home use. Simple as that.

I bet you're the kind of guy that spends $50+ on 12 feet of RCA's for your car, or buys Monster anything.
Nope, not at all.Install equipment is install equipment to me as long as its for its intended useage;)

Schose,Crankin Power,Fat Mat,Audiopipe and Raptor all the way for my install needs.

I like getting the best price as well or more than most of you.I can get a product thats made/marketed for car use and I can get it cheaper than what you guys are using.

Good for you. Now what about the rest of us. You still haven't explained the advantages of YOUR wire versus welding wire.

BTW,do any of you use home circut breakers in your cars??I see people doing that as well and a breaker is a breaker right?

Maybe but you wont see me using them in my car's.

Ive yet to see any elec cable with the strand count of car audio wiring beside the DLO cable you just put a pic up of.....

I work with it all day. SIS, XHHW1, MDLE, etc. . . .

But don't you see the point? With a name like Diesel Locomotive Cable, would you think it is designed and used only in the locomotive? Nope; it's widely used in both commercial and residential. Same with welding cable. Welding cable is DLO, but it's marketed to the masses as "welding cable."

Read my posts,I never listed any advantages of using car stereo cable vs welding cable.Just said I wouldnt use it and listed the reasons why.

If youre really placing that much importance on the small price difference,I reccomend you get a better job.

Sorry I touched a soft spot with you cheap bastards.

I see your point and thanks for not being an ******* like the others trying to get it across.

Can you see my points??

WTF ROFL

Totaly different Ideas here, your CAN't use a Home Circuit breaker for a car, Unless your car is AC? WTH lol

Wire is wire. I like car audio 1/0 cas I can keep ground and power color coded and because it will all match 4ga 8ga etc... Do they make 8ga welding wire or below? Welding wire would work just as well!

Hmm, maybe because i'm in school(because of scholarships i EARNED) and didn't INHERIT a multi-million dollar company //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

When you bust your *** every day and spend your HARD earned money on equipment, maybe then you'll learn the value of a dollar. When you go through equipment as much as i do, and have other expensive hobbies besides stereos (car customizing, golf, my four wheeler), you have to save money where you can.

A breaker is not a breaker. It's more complex than wire to do the home/car comparison. There are many mechanical differences and thermal and electrical properties to distinguish the 2.

You should see some of the breaker enclosures I've worked on. Some as large as a 40,000 amperes continuous. They are mechanically operated as well. Some even use a pressurized gas to control the arc when opening or closing. It's quite a site. Ever seen a hi-pot with 100,000 volts? That's some good times.

I see your point, but many of the people whom visit these forums are heavy into the DIY trade and do as much as possible to save money. If I had the extra cash to spend, I'd be buying the "car audio" cable as well just for the nicer looking jacket.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Maybe more complex but weve all seen people use them succesfully in car app's.Just trying to make a point that just because it works doesnt make it "right"...
