HID system

Why pay someone to do something that you can very well do on your own with a few tools and some reading.

Also, get off your *** and go to a pull a part junk yard and get the parts like I do.

Ebay is wonderful, and I will never understand why people are scared of it. I have a TON of awesome transactions. You just have to make sure you know what you're getting. Ask questions. Yadda yadda.

Education = cheaper retrofits.

Paying $1200 for one is just laziness.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif
I'm not sure if you've done one or not but by judging your pics that you posted you haven't.

Do you know how hard it is to aim the lights so that they are even? And if they're not aimed right then its just like buying a plug and play kit?

There is nothing wrong with ebay but its a hit and miss. They might have it one day and be gone the next.

Not everybody has a junk yard that is accessible to them and if they did have one that is in good enough shape it'll be sold before you know it. Especially when the workers there know that it is an expensive part, they'll pull it and put it on ebay to get more out of it.

Sometimes education is not enough //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

The people you fucking blind with your bullshit glare off your bullshit 'plug and play' HID kits sure do pay attention.
Well then no one's paying attention, you just said it yourself there.

People are generally angry.. if you leave your brights on/ your low beams are too bright, they flash you.. at least once in a while. I've been driving around with my little plug-n-play HID in reflector housing setup for close to a year and never been flashed... not once. Obviously I'm not doing too much blinding now am I? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif

I've met HID cars head on before, anyways, it's not as bad as meeting a big truck with stock lights head on.

honestly i get blinded more by esclades and saabs for some reason more than cars with HID kits.

i've seen a lot of cars with factory hid with reflector housings. And don't tell me that their reflector housing is made for hid either, its all bogus.

not every car with stock projectors are HID. actually the majority are regular halogen bulbs inside the projectors. not all projecters as you mention will accept HID systems as some weren't made for them. though, what loud3 was saying is a little research can go a long way. a little research will show you what projectors will work with HID systems and net you the best output/quality.

and yes, for 600 you can get a **** good HID projector setup for retrofitting.

i retrofitted my headlights myself and spent 650.. and i did this with actual new headlights.

i bought some aftermarket projector headlights and removed the projector in those. found some 05 Acura TSX projectors off ebay and a decent 5000k HID kit. if i would have just used my stock head lights i may have only spent about 300 bucks. only downside was 1 headlight was smashed from an accident so i needed new headlights.

it's not at all hard to aim the headlights correctly. again a little research can go a long way.

to the OP, the issue may be bad wiring or the ballast for that one side is going bad. contact the seller/manufacture and tell them your situation to see if they can get you a replacement.

Not everybody's got 1,200 bucks for some headlights. And who cares?

cost me $600 for Projectors, oem ballast and bulbs, projector foglights, and a plug and play kit for the fogs.

And if you keep having to turn your switch on and off to get the bulbs to ignite i bet they are not going to last long at all. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

The reflectors on those cars ( escalades, navigators, is300's) ARE made for HID. The HID bulb gives off a different light pattern so you need a reflector bowl designed different to focus the light. But even now all those cars have gone to projectors.

I've done more than a few for other people. Yes, I have aimed. Yes, it is time consuming. But worth it in the long run. Just because I don't display everything I do on the interwebz, doesn't mean I haven't cut up a few headlights before.

These are **** good reads for those of you that are uninformed.

8,000K plug and play kit (standing level... imagine driving level!)
I have never seen an hid kit in person that produces that much glare. That is more camera base showing that much glare.

My gx470 did not come with hid but they did come with projectors and i put a 4300k in it and you cannot tell the difference. The cut off level is perfect.

Can you show me some pictures of your cut-offs at night time? I'm just curious

I know that it is better for you to have the correct type of lens either for projectors or reflectors.

For example, i read a thread about a gs400 i believe. The model before i think went to projectors that had hid. Some of them came with hid and some didn't, depending on what package you got.

And so the ones that didn't get the package with oem hid bought a plug and plug kit and installed them and shared with the forum and they were flame about not doing a retrofit. Anyways, so i'm like wth, what difference does it make if u got the package that has oem hid in them?

May i ask what kind of projectors did u get? who manufactured the ballast and bulbs?

You didn't list headlights so i'm assuming that you used your factory headlights?

Oh yea its dif. worth it in the long run but not a lot of people have the patience to do it and they get discourage easily. But once they're doing it and they have all of this money in it, they'll just half *** do it and it would have been just easier if they just bought a plug and play kit.
