Hey guys

My name is Jack! I'm in SoCal, and I'm looking to expand my audio knowledge and my own equipment.

My Ride:

It's got a custom suade interior, 26" rims, exhaust. It's a 5.3L vortec engine. I'll be getting a viper alarm system for it.

As for audio:

Two 12" JL w7

And I'm buying the amps right now, was thinking about putting in

Two single channel hifonics 2100w

Then get another multi channel amp or speaker and tweeters

Two independent battery sources.

The install which I'll create a build log for will go as follows

The subs will be in a sealed box in the truck bed pressed up against cab, sealed enclosure, subs facing cab, the cab and bed will have a hole (already cutout) as sealed. Amps will be under the rear seats, eq in front dash.

What do you guys think?

I'm new to audio, so if you have any suggestions for components or how to make the build better, please let me know ASAp as I'll be buying probably this weekend.

Thank you!

Can you elaborate? I'm actually not quite sure what you mean by that. Can you tell me how I can make it louder but still sound good?

Welcome to the forum!

Thanks for posting the pics of your nice ride.

I, too, am not a fan of blowthroughs...esp not on an ext cab or quad cab pickup, where you already should have plenty of space for a large enclosure.

Welcome to the forum! I am sure a lot of people will chime in and help you out. I am sure you already know the equipment and power are important, but not as important as the design of the enclosure(for the subs) and the implementation of the enclosure. You have an awesome ride already, so cutting corners doesn't seem like something you will be doing. Installation is the most important factor, and I look forward to seeing your build-log when you get started!

Well should I weld a piece of metal back on? And do the enclosures inside the cab, I've never seem blow through and if you guys say it's not as good, I don't want it. The truck had that piece already cut out and sealed the space between bed and cab.

So you already have holes cut in both the bed and the cab? From the above I was inferring that it was only cut through the bed....

If the holes are already cut you might as well use them! I would not go sealed on a blowthrough design, tho. Kinda defeats the purpose, IMHO

Your first word of advice? Drop the JLs. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

Haha, in all seriousness, welcome to CA.com! I'm kinda' new myself, but so far the place seems relatively friendly. I'm learning new things every day, so you're gonna be alright if that's what you've come here for. Have a good time! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

From what I recall, W7s can get loud and sound clean with the right setup. I had a friend with a 13W7 in his SUV and it was very nice.

Definitely, I'm not disagreeing what-so-ever. However, you can get the same SPL/SQ for much cheaper.
