Hey guys, New member need some help choosing

lol..the pics didn't open for me earlier..Man, what was wrong with your old set up again?? were the subs bottoming?

Doesn't matter, as long as you keep the signal clean. About the only difference between 1ohm 1500 watts and 1ohm 2500 watts is the power output...the electrical upgrades required to keep the volts up are about the same...might get away with just a beefy AGM up front on the 1500watts rms.. BTW, are you sure those DD's are not the 3500's?

Ahh ok . As far as them being 3500s...I have no idea but man would that be nice if they were lol . Does the magnet look too big to be 2500s? I thought they were 3500s at first too but his post said 2510s.

Ehh when I first got it , it just was not loud at all . It sounded like I only had 1 12 back there . So I got a crossover and that helped it some but then I kept blowing them . It was just a overall bad experience . I got it all done at car toys and they never once told me I needed an electrical upgrade so I never did it . Now I'm thinking it probably would have made a big difference had I done it . They told me that leather in the car dampenend the sound from it being as loud as it could be . Idk if that's true or not. Also, I went to this shop that sold nothing but digital design subs and he showed me a car that had 1 10" dd in a custom box and it out blew my system both sq and loudness . Granted it was in a eclispe and it doesn't have a huge trunk like mine but

That's what kinda made me dislike what I had .

As far as tuning , whoever I get to make my box should know what to tune it to right ? Is there a "safe zone" in Hz ? Or does it vary or each sub

Spiders are sorta like the suspension. Yea i know not very tech but I am no sub builder. I had it in the trunk of a saturn ion. Box was 1.8cf tuned to 37.5hz. I was just running 1 2510 on the aq. DD's tend to like higher tuned boxes but that does not mean you cant make them wrk in a lower tuned box. Mine got pretty loud for a single 10 on 1k..

Look in the first pic see the round disc things with hole in center?? Those are spiders..

Spiders are sorta like the suspension. Yea i know not very tech but I am no sub builder. I had it in the trunk of a saturn ion. Box was 1.8cf tuned to 37.5hz. I was just running 1 2510 on the aq. DD's tend to like higher tuned boxes but that does not mean you cant make them wrk in a lower tuned box. Mine got pretty loud for a single 10 on 1k..

I told him I didn't want it because tbh it doesn't look it it was a quality build n it doesn't look anything like what they recommend on the dd website . . But he did say it was tuned to 32hz. He has the box in the pics I provided up there ^^^

Naw just build your own box. Buy a design from someone on here and DIY or you can contact Dustin "ProRabbit" as he sells DIY kits. He cuts them and does everything but screws and glues them together... Now even if u know nothing about audio at all you can glue seams and screw in screws plus its alot cheaper then getting one already built sent to you plus u get the fun of building your own box...
