Brings back memories...my 98' M3 has been sitting in my garage for the past year...I should really put it up for sale...Well, it's not really accurate to call myself an SQ lover, since I really don't have much setup in my car. My base is a 98 M3 4 door with the stock Harmon Kardon sound system.
I blew one of the kick panel 5.25" speakers, and this spawned a whole phase.....car audio.
I started with a set of Focal Polyglass components up front and disconnected the mid speaker in the door. All this ran on the stock AMP, This soon proved to be harsh and it all seem underpowered.
I recently added an MB Quart RAA2400 amp to power my front components.
Very simple start, but I'm getting somewhere!! As for the front setup, since I like to retain the stock look with the stock HU, I will change my line output converter to an EQL, and then perhaps moving to some tang band 6x9's in the rear deck powered by a mono amp.
Glad to be here!
Why's it just sitting in your garage?! Noice choice of mods there.
Oh, and a buddy of mine is looking for RC's so if you want to sell them, definitely let me know.
I used to be all over DTM........it was a great community with Dado. Then he started charging for membership, and I didn't have a problem with it, I paid anyways, but after this, it all died. I loved that place to be quite honest.Long story //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
I can't sell the RCs I already sold my stock rims to my buddy...
I can't bear to sell it but I got this other car payment I'm stuck with //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
Your ride is hella sweet man...any good twisties in your area?
We use to have a great local Bimma club in the Seattle area...DTM Power....
amen brother...We need more SQ lovers like you here . . too many SPL heads on this forum.
i do, and while i would never buy a normal 3. i think the M series cares are great, they were built with the driver in mind and actually have character.you want an e30 then eh?
my first car was e30 3 series
fun, but i'm going with "overrated" on all 3 series'
I would actually have to agree with this guy. The thing I don't like about new BMW's is their lack of road feel. I feel every bump in the road, and my steering is tight and the steering wheel you need some muscle to turn it. I don't like the detached road feel of many of the new cars out there.m coupe... sick
e36 m3- not as fun as people remember in the context of what's out there for new cars. needs major mods just to keep up. I love the fact that it is more of a driver's car, and i hate how the newer cars keep getting larger and heavier etc. though. It's too bad bmw has slowly crept into mercedes territory (big, heavy, higher hp because it's needed cars etc.) while at the same time my friend's at AMG have completely re-written the rule book about what that type of car can and should be (see any new AMG vs. BMW competitor if there is one) and thusly embarassed the company i had always held closest to my heart (bmw). Says a lot about the direction they've gone in that i'm driving a mercedes and an audi these days...
none of this takes away from the fact that this guy has a really cool car btw etc, and i hope it isn't taken that way. It is very likely that for the $ he spent the E36 m3 was probably what i would have purchased too.
