Okay i just got a call from my buddy and he wants to trade my xbox 360 wit 2 games for a JL 1/500 and JL 6.5 copponet speakers..that sounds good but i was gonna get 2 alpine type r's also..u think that amp will be powerfull enough or i should think about different speakers?

If you're talking about powering a pair of Rs with that 500/1 then I'd say no, that's not enough juice to get satisfactory performance from the Alpines.

Well, the 500/1 is certainly a capable unit regardless. I'm sure you could find a use for it later down the road. I reckon it all depends on whether or not you use that Xbox much...
