I don't feel like reading the whole thread, but I tell you guys a story from when I was a kid. I went to a catholic school 1st through 8th grade and one day the priest was in my calss talking about god and how no matter where you were he could hear your prayers. Well after hearing that I asked "If god can hear my prayers then why do I have to go to church to pray?" Next thing I know I got smacked upside my head by a nun, then when i got home my mom added some more whooping on me. Now that I'm grown it pisses me off to know that my mom(single mom, raising three kids, with hardly any money) spent every last dime sending me to that school. They used to give out church enveloopes to the parishoners that had their name on it. They kept tabs on how much you gave to the church. And even after paying to go to that school, they called my mom in and said that she wasn't donating enough to the church:furious: . Recently I asked her what she did about it, and she said she would skip lunch at work during the week so she could give the "donations" so I could have a good education(philly's public schools are terrible). I didn't know that god is more worried about the money going into the church over his followers having food in their stomach But yet when we would get punished and have to clean in the convent after school they would have feasts layed out on their table for dinner. Vow of poverty my ***. They knew that the public schools sucked and they capitalized on it, taking advantage of the fact that my mom along with the hundreds of other parents of the kids in my school(which most were in the same boat as my mother) just wanted a good education for their children.

Oh and My school St. Joan of Arc closed down a couple of years ago. The tuition went up to like $4000 a year plus "donations", and the people in the neighborhood couldn't afford it anymore. I guess it's hard to profit in the ghetto even when you have god on your side:laugh:

Btw when I went there is was $1200 a year

Ok heres my 3 cents worth.First,one of the major tenents of any religion is blind faith.Believing without proof of existance.Second,the nature of men in power is to bend things to thier favor.Example,the church in the middle ages.Back then,all religous teaching came from the priests.The priests could tell them whatever they wanted them to believe,and they had to take it as the truth,under persacution of law.So any thing you read in the bible has to be taken with a grain of salt.The churches have been corrupted(some of them)to be money hungry.

I believe there is a higher power, but I am not very religous. I just live my life the best way I know how and call it that. I dont go to churches let alone give money to them, but if people want to do that, then heck, it is their business to do so. Why do you care( To OP) about it so much? explain to me how man was created and I'll admit there is no God. Chances are next to 0 that a protien could form. Sure scientists could do it, but that was only in laboratory conditions with the exact ingredients and a constant electrical current. Explain to me how that managed to happen. Chances are better that a tornado could pass through a junkyard and build a fully functional 747.
So imagine that by some freak chance that a protien comes from nowhere. Just think about how small the odds are that those protiens could even form a single cell. And how could something that small manifest itself into thousands of varieties of plants and animals, and all their respective parts. I don't care how many billions of years you have, the chance that even a protien could forn is next to nil, and the idea that all those could form life as we see it today is inane.

All of the OP's original questions/statements are extremely shallow, and I won't even bother answering them because he's just going to call me an idiot and respond with something just as ignorant. And even after he reads this, he's just going to immediately dismiss it and classify me as an idiot.

All I will say is that God exists, and if you don't believe, I'm sorry.

The only legitemit argument to people like him is that there are millions of other planets in the universe. There has to be a few where the conditions where just right. Hell I beleive it happened like that. But who put that into motion? Hell I beleive it happened like that. But who put that into motion? However, following the theory of evolution we came from a fish who wanted to eat the plants. But where did the plants come from? So the fish learns to wiggle out of the water, take a bite, wiggle back in. Eventually this leads to becomming an amphibian. Anphibians become little dinosaurs over time. Little dinosaurs go two ways, birds and land animals. Out of no where, this fish that is now a dinosaur wants to start eating bugs, but they are so high up. So they start running and jumping. Over time their scales become frilled like feathers and their bones develop and become lighter....now they can glide...soon they can fly.

On the other hand, these cold blooded animals suddenly develop the genetics to warm themselves....this creates mamals and we all know the story from there.

I'm not saying God said poof and we where here. 6th day could mean 6 billionth year. Time for God is nothing, time for us has meaning and substance.

Heck, I dont doubt that life of some sort exists somewhere else in the universe. Christians already had an army...they killed people. Most 'Christians' arent christians at all. If you beleive your way is the only way to Heavan and all others will be banished to hell I feel sorry for you.
