help?

i have rescently bought 2 phoenixgold octane r 12inch subs with the box for 60 bucks, they are 4ohms and 250rms each. so i bought a jl xd600/1 monoblock amp . so here is the thing, there are 2 positive right beside each other and 2 negitive right beside on each other on the amp, and i have one sub plugged into one set of pos. and neg. and the other sub plugged into the other set. so what kind of watts am i puttin into the subs wired like that? in the manual and on the box it says its 600w@2ohms, 500w@3ohms, and 400w@4ohms so how do i wire it to get these 3 options? any help would be greatly apreciated

If the subs have single 4 ohm coils then you're running @ 2ohms, so 600watts, 300w per sub.

Well in your case you have two single voice coil subs, each coil being 4 ohm. You have two options to wire them both together to a mono amp. You can wire the coils in series to get a 8 ohm load or parallel to get a 2 ohm load(which is what you have done).

The speaker terminals on the amp are bridged (run together) internally, there are only 2 sets for convenience. So you do have them wired together.

You could wire both the positives together & both neg's together then wire it to one set of the terminals & you'd have the exact same thing, it's a 1 channel amp.

ok so say i wire the subs together would that run them both at 600 or if i unplugged the one sub would that make the one run at 600
