help with wiring

I installed 2 10" alpine type-r's in my 05 mustang with a kenwood amp, and it stops every like 4 min. the amp shuts off. but then when i turn off the radio for like a minuite, and turn it back on it works......for another 4 min.

please anyone reply if you know this problem

sounds like you have a weak electrical system. Did you use 4AWG wire? check all of your connections, is your ground wire tight? Upgrade your alternator, big 3, new batt etc etc.

could just be a lose connection. check grounds, and power connections and fuses.

also use minimum 4 gauge power/grounds. and check your rem wire and make sure it's not lose (amp turn-on lead).

i doubt you need a battery and alty at this point.

what's your system info?

i got all 4 guage power and ground wire, the battery in the cars brand new.....maybe i need a cap????

just upgrade the "big 3" (stickied). possibly a ho alt. if you have a dmm, go measure voltages with your car on, then with engine running (at the battery) and see what it says.

yea bro i leave it on medium to low volume and it still cuts out. maybe the ground wire????????

yea, pull your ground and make sure you sanded down the paint around it to bare metal.

recheck your grounds. sand down to bare metal. relocate ground if necessary.

yea im thinkin thats the problem, but its got to be somethin with my electrical cuase when the bass hits, the lights in my car dim so im thinkin about just buyin a better battery.

check your ground before you do anything, not that it is a bad thing to upgrade the battery..

also when i got my subs installed they had to extend the power wire with a coupler...could that be a possibility too?
