Help with wiring harness

OK so I've got my new wiring harness for my kenwood x790.

My car's wiring harness (bought from crutchfield) has a remote amp turn on wire, and my headunit wiring harness has a remote amp turnon wire.

Do I connect the car's wire to the headunits wire then connect those two to my amp?

or do I connect my headunits wire to my amp and leave the car's wire alone? or the opposite? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

on my headunit's wiring harness there are 2 unused wires, a pink/black labeled "EXT. CONT."

and a brown wire labeled "MUTE".

There are no extra wires on my car's wiring harness.

What is ext. cont. ? and can I do anything with these wires or should I just tuck them away?

If you have a cap or even just electrical tape you can put over the "MUTE" wire do it because it could ground out and mute your deck, had it happen //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif. I just run the remote from my deck to the amp and just cap off the one on the harness but if you have a factory sub I think you sohuld hook it up.

oh cool I have the same amp as you too lol.

how do you like your subs? I may buy myself a pair of those //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

on the back of the kenwood, theres a left aux and a right aux...are they just 2 plain old aux's or are they for something specific? could I just plug an ipod in one of them?
