Help with Wattage on Subs.

If I have 2 10" subwoffers rated at 600 Watts RMS each with dual 2 ohm voice coils can I wire them together for a total 1 ohm load and send 1200 watts to them?

So to think this thing out I would have to wire one 2 ohm voice coil on one speaker in parallel with the other for a 1 ohm load. But that would leave the other 2 voice coils unused so does that effect how much power they can handle?

If so then would I need to wire the 2 subs with a 2 ohm load and use an amp that can send 1200 watts at 2 ohms. $$$

You can't get a 1 ohm load from 2 DVC 2 ohm woofers. yes you need an amp that is 1200 watts @ 2 ohms.

only .5 ohm load, or 4 ohm load.

Thank you very much...... I now understand that having a DVC gives you 2 options for load but both voice coils need to be used. So now the cost of the amp just went up.

Thanks again
