Hello, a little while ago I installed a Kicker dx250.1 amp and Comp 10 sub on my factory Chrysler MyGig system using the high level speaker inputs of the amp. Problem is, it is extremely boomy at lower volumes, and then you can't hear the sub when cranked up. I know factory units reduce bass at higher volumes to save the speakers, so I guess that is what it's doing. I was going to buy the Kicker bass knob and crank that up with the volume loud, but when I played with the amp gain, you still can't hear the sub when cranked. The sub and amp both get good reviews, so I don't think it's a fault of either. Oh, and I used a 60 hz test tone to set the gain using a multi meter already.
Do I need to add some sort of bass restorer so it doesn't cut the bass signal going to the amp?
