help with soldering

Go with the solder wick for this job. While you are soldering, remember that the bigger the glob the better job does not apply. Use only enough to adhere your teminal to the board, then clean up all your mess with a q-tip dipped in alcohol. Flux and resin are corrosive through time.

ok i got the solder wick , its like a flat metal braided thingy ... but its not really working

like the little holes are tiny and i lay the braid over them then push with the solder gun point but it dosent absorb the solder or anything? i've been doing the little inch drop method and i've managed to clear 4 holes of the 20 so i still have a long ways to go //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

another method ive been toying with that actually does work is i stuck the solder gun point in the hole then scrape the braid underneath the circuit board to catch the liquid solder but its not to effective... any other ideas?

For the litle tiny holes the suction iron works great.

BTW, heating the solder in the hole and then trying to push the component lead into the solder before it cools is a sure way to get a cold solder joint and have the joint fail. Both components to be soldered togeher must be heated to nsure proper adhesion and a solid joint.

Add a little flux to the wick. Then place the wick on top of the solder you want to remove and place the iron on top of the wick and wait for the solder to melt and that should do it.
