help with port area

im am about to build my box for the nightshade 18 and i am wondering how much port area is too much for daily driving. im plugging in my dimensions in the RE box calc, and it seems as if something's wrong... basically im getting 116 for sqaure port area... any help would be greatly appreciated

That sounds about right. Just follow what the calc says. It will give you dimensions and everything.

No such thing as too much... technically speaking. There is a point where getting bigger doesn't yield any more results and the port is so large and long that it makes the enclosure not possible.

More importantly, what size is the box as far as net volume goes (internal volume with the port and sub subtracted from it)

96-128 sq in of port area is the range for an 8 cube box using the 12-16 sq. in of port per cubic foot rule of thumb.
