I've done alts on old schools and you have to tighten the alt down the slide tensioner. Idk if that's what it's called but that's what it looks like.

Miachel over at Singers Alternators confirmed that this supercharger like sound is in fact normal. Sounds like its gotten a little quieter or maybe i'm getting used to it.
