Help with my Pioneer HU

Hey all sorry for the newb question but i have a pioneer deh-3400 and it has a LOUD option on it and some guy i was talking to said to keep it off because its not good for the amp ect...

So at the moment i have it off but even if i put LOUD LOW on it gets alot louder... i dont wanna mess my amp or sub up so let me know what you all think thanks!

I wouldnt think that would mess anything up unless your amps running over rms or somthing

It increases the gain on certain frequencies. When you set your gains correctly you shouldn't even need it on.
