Help with determining RMS output .

Hey guys I'm trying to determine the output on my brothers build . He's currently running 3 SKAR IX 10's on a 800 watt mono in a sealed enclosure . From everything I can gather off a volt meter , the final wiring impedance holds steady at just over 2.5 ohm . The amp is rated at 600rms at 2 ohm , but dyno's at 710 on a certified test at 2 ohm and uncertified at 808 2 ohm . Would I be safe to say each sub is getting at least 225 rms on the low end ?

I'm asking because the subs are low rms rated at 200 each ( " conservatively " ) . I really don't think he gives a **** however I'm an auto tech so I deal with electrical on a daily basis and I can't seem to figure out the formula for this one for a somewhat accurate measure .

Probably around 200 per sub BEFORE box rise so probably under 150 each after that is taken into account.

Because of impedance rise you can run an amp with 2-3x the power rating of the subs before running into trouble.

yeah like darth said probably 150 each at most.. 1 better sub in nice ported box be better on that amp i'd bet..

You need 2 tools. A multimeter ac voltage and a clamp meter that has ac amperage you can times the 2 measurements to get rms Power and divide the get rise

I believe its ac amps / ac volts = impedance

Ac amps x ac volts = wattage

That will give you VA, not RMS.

Based on the power factor at the time of the given clamp, VA can be as much as double that of RMS but VA will never be below RMS, always greater.

Is that even with a true rms clamp meter? And if you take the readings from the output side of the amp, how is it not rms?
