Help with BTL Recone

Alright so my Recone kit for my BTL came from Fi Today, but it has no alignment Jig, what do i do now? i have no way to align the coil in the gap properly, what do other people use for there recone to make it work

its really kinda hard to explain,but if u dont get it right,u just wasted your money on a recone.

if its a 15 it will be alot easier than a 12,a 12 is a bish

Just build shims out of a folder or loose-leaf paper.

Plastic sheets work well also.

Just slip then in the gap between the VC former and pole-piece.

There is how I did my DD9515d:

Leave the shims in until the glue sets.

but the gap on a btl differs from mt's and dd i think its wider,but good pic of how its done^^^^^^^^^

What about one of these deals i have laying around, i could rip off one side of the folder and use that as a shim possibly?

what if i gutted it? like ripped off the inner envelope part so it was just the outer peice

I have used Manila folders on some subs. But like what was said above, some gaps are closer than others. A few sheets of paper cut right and stacked on one another works great. That way you can build up the thickness you need.
